Mary Friedman Memorial Scholarship
The Mary Friedman Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 by the Friedman family. This scholarship pays tribute to Mary Friedman, who deeply cared for the children and youth of the Battlefords, and provided years of dedicated support and direction to the Battlefords Boys & Girls Club.
Mary began supporting the Club as a Director of the Board, and following nearly twelve years as a board member, Mary took over as Club Executive Director, a position she enjoyed for several years. Mary believed that every child deserves access and opportunity to participate in sport and recreational programs, and was an outspoken advocate for all youth in our community.
In honour of Mary Friedman, this Memorial Scholarship is intended to recognize past or present Battlefords Boys & Girls Club youth members or staff personnel for their community effort, involvement and participation with the Club, academic success and financial need. Each year one recipient will recieve $500.00 in funding supports to assist them in achieving their goals, whatever they may be!
